The Hiding Place:
ReplyDeleteI thought this film was very eye opening. It shows what really happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany. It was really sad that people were getting beaten and imprisoned for something they had no control over, and the people trying to help them were also getting punished. It shows how families got ripped apart, but on the positive side Corrie and Betsy found each other by sheer chance. The whole film puts you on edge because there is no way of telling what could happen next.
This film shows how Corrie Ten Boom’s a non-Jewish family tried to help Jews by hiding them in any spot they could find. This ultimately comes back to bite them because they are all imprisoned and put in the same camps as the Jews. One of the main features was life in a concentration camp. This shows how poorly the Jews were treated. The second key feature is that no matter how poorly Betsy and Corrie got treated they always trusted in God to help them through. Corrie said at the end “No pit is so deep that he is not deeper still.”
I really liked this movie because it was very interesting. It was also a Christian based film. It challenged me to think “would I have been as faithful to God as they were?” Despite all of their trials they always stayed faithful to God no matter what. This movie is very inspirational for anyone struggling with trusting God. It teaches to trust God even in the hard times.
The Goebbel’s Experiment
Joseph Goebbel was Hitler’s propaganda chief, and the promotor of the political Nazi agenda. He nearly died of pneumonia when he was young. After he recovered from pneumonia he still wasn’t healthy. After many years of trying to find help from doctors Goebbel ended up with a club foot. This made Goebbel bitter because he could no longer play games with the other kids. He hated being different so much that he thought equality was the best solution. He paved the pathway for Hitler by brainwashing the people into thinking that Germany was right and the rest of the world was wrong.
