  1. It is really interesting for me to hear about different branches. So I enjoyed Vaughn Kohler’s presentation very much. I was excited about his career with ups and downs, especially how he became a ghostwriter. For me, and in the most parts of Germany, the term “ghostwriter” has a negative connotation. Recently we had several cases of dissertations, which were written by “ghostwriters”. Vaughn Kohler changed my view of this job completely. It is an honorable, well-paid, and informative job. As I know from my parents, both deal in their jobs with language, nice structured and well developed phrases and sentences are wonderful. Even though it is tough for me in English, I enjoy formulating texts, but mainly in German. His presentation gives me hope, because through exercise my writing will become better.

  2. After attending Vaughn Koler's presentation i was very surprised and amazed by what he does for a living. I believe his story and job are awesome, and I believe it is amazing how he gets to meet a lot of important and famous people. I believe that we should be happy in our careers, and I Imagine that Koler is very happy in what he is doing and accomplishing. I personally would not consider myself a great writer and this job would never be for me, but I did enjoy hearing him tell us that just like anything else the more you do something the better you will get. The more I write the better i plan to get.

  3. I thought Vaughn Koler's presentation was very good, I did not think being a ghostwriter would be a good profession to get into. But from what he said it sounds like a good time since you work on your own time and you get to meet famous people. Kohler seems like he loves his job and i am very happy for him that he basically made his own job for himself. If iI was a decent writer i would try this profession but i could not see myself being a ghostwriter. Overall I am happy that he is making a good living and i hope he does well in the future.

  4. In Vaughn Koler's presentation I was surprised on how he started his business. I previously did not know what a ghostwriter was, and I was interested on how easy he made it sound. He has a great story, and he was encouraging everyone to at least consider doing this on the side no matter our majors. I don't believe I could ever be a ghostwriter, but I enjoyed listening to him speak and telling the story of his business.

  5. In Vaughn Koler's talk the one thing I took away was his persistence to continue to find a job but not only just a job but something that he loved to do. I really enjoyed how he “made up” a job position and would tell people “you need me for this position”. The almost dominating personality that Koler brought was perfect for his job because he would go up to people and say, “Have you ever thought about writing a book?” That’s all it took for him to start doing something he loved and to have a really good pay. Unfortunately I’m not good enough at writing to fully take away anything on pursuing a career in writing but the persistence and the willingness to make what he wanted to do happen, thats something I believe we all can take away from the talk.

  6. My take away from Vaughn Koler's presentation was that I could do anything I set my mind to. If I set a goal and strive for it I can meet it every time. Vaughn couldn't really find a job that he liked so he made his own. It took some time to master his pricing and everything, but he finally did and now he has a very successful business doing what he loves. We need to not let fear of failing prevent us from trying. Vaughn Kohler tried and look where he is now. He's doing what he loves and is making a good living off of it.

  7. What I personally took from his presentation was the motto 'anything is possible' or 'you can do anything if you work hard for it.' For me I am going through something like that right now at SWU. I want to become a Physical Therapist for a living so that means I would have to be accepted to PT school for my graduate. School has never been my strong point, but I have try my very hardest throughout this semester to obtain good grades to strengthen my GPA. Vaughn's speech was a motivation to most including myself and I plan on taking that motivation and run with it.
